Antenna positioners: performance, applications and reliability

Functionality and Capabilities

Multi-axis systems enabling precise measurements of radomes and antennas, including radiation, gain, and polarization analysis, as well as calibration operations.

Accuracy and Applications

Used in the space and military sectors, these positioners offer high accuracy, high speed, and the ability to control multiple axes simultaneously.

Reliability and Support

Equipped with high-performance, modular electronics, they guarantee robustness and reliability, with installation, maintenance, and recalibration services provided.

Antenna positioners are multi-axis systems that can integrate up to twelve axes of rotation or translation. They enable radome measurements to analyze transparency, beam deflection, and changes in the radiation pattern. They are also used to test individual or integrated antennas, particularly to evaluate gain, radiation pattern, polarization, and to perform calibration and characterization operations.

These devices are used in the space and military sectors for antennas, models, and full-scale systems. They offer high positioning accuracy (down to 0.01° or even 0.001°) and a movement speed of up to 12° per second. They also allow for the simultaneous control of multiple axes and utilize high-resolution optical encoders.

The control units developed by CDMS provide a high-performance, reliable, and modular solution compatible with various positioners. Our teams handle system installation, maintenance, and recalibration. These positioners are distinguished by their European manufacturing, robust construction, and suitability for both indoor and outdoor environments.
